Giving Tuesday Event

GCI will be hosting its first fundraiser during the Global Giving Movement known as Giving Tuesday. Enjoy performances from Ron DeVoe of New Edition and Shamari DeVoe of Blaque and the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served as you participate in our silent auction and take a private tour of the Stony Island Arts Museum, all in the effort to benefit the communities of Greater Chatham.

Tickets are $100 each, and the event will be held on Tuesday, November 27th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Stony Island Arts Bank at 6760 S. Stony Island Ave. Valet parking will be available.

Kwanzaa on the 9

It’s going to be a very merry Christmas in Greater Chatham this year! Get into the spirit by taking advantage of special promotions at local businesses, seeing some of 79th Street’s businesses transformed with Kwanzaa-inspired window displays, and enjoying gospel caroling with local churches. Kids can even have their pictures taken with Black Santa and meet a few real reindeer!

Free to the public. Window displays will be up December 7th – January 4th between Vernon and Eberhart, and Santa will be making an appearance at Josephine’s at 436 E. 79th Street on Saturday, December 7th, time to be announced.
