Greater Chatham is home to firms who want to be headquartered outside of the loop and adjacent to Calumet River basin. Due to our proximity to Indiana with our rail and interstate highway system, it makes sense that Greater Chatham  is home to more than 110  transportation, distribution and logistics firms that have more than $80 million in annual sales. We also have many retailers. In fact after downtown, Greater Chatham is where south siders shop. With more than 300 retailers in what is now known as Chatham Center Chicago, that have $256 million in annual sales. Greater Chatham has a manufacturing legacy with dedicated areas zoned for it. There is an existing cluster of 10 metal fabricators who largely make door and window frames used in housing construction. They generate over $80 million in annual sales. We have a few food packaging and processing firms that make frozen pizza, ice cream, etc. There are 7 food packaging and processing firms that generate >$7 million in annual sales.

Greater Chatham is for foodies! Did you know that 52-53% of our small businesses are food and beverage retail such as restaurants, take-out establishments, and bars?
